FACTORY EIGHT GAMES

World
Long ago, the planet Iria beheld a prosperous civilization of scientists, artists, and philosophers. This thinker's paradise had moved beyond war and strife, instead devoting their efforts to research and design. Ironically, a natural disaster wiped them out. The Crimson Tear, a large piece of the planet's smaller moon, broke off and plunged into the ocean. Inside the moon was an unknown liquid which quickly contaminated the oceans and atmosphere. Though the Irians fell, their robots remain.

Over the millennium in which the machines were without masters, brutal wars broke out. Some machines valued their independence over anything else, while others longed for the guiding hand of their former masters. Others, damaged by battle, became savages obsessed with protecting their own existence.

Now, the planet has begun to stabilize. It is possible that it may once again support organic life, but is still very harsh. The once blue seas are now a metallic green, while the land is a light shade of blue. This deformed landscape lies under a thick veil of gray clouds.
